Along the Upper Scotch Line

Civilization is found just 8 mins away to Perth and 20 mins to Westport. The area is a bustling summer destination for private cottage dwellers that emerge from May to Sept when the population in the area literally doubles in size.

Perth is a gorgeous town as you can see from the photos but there are many historical villages in Lanark County with beautiful destinations from Mica mines, golf courses, boat cruises, canoe & kayak rentals, maple syrup tours, horseback riding and wonderful antique & unique shopping experiences, just to name a few.

Festivals in Lanark Country range from vibrant music & art tours to food festivals such as the Garlic Festival, Festival of the Maples, and the famous Perth Kilt Run.

What I love most about living here is that people live life to the fullest and regardless of where you roam you will always find friendly interesting people. Travel has always been a Canadian pastime but we feel  genuine comfort from the supportive communities we live in.

Perth & Area

BOWES SIDE RD. is approximately 2 miles from Penny's Lane. Interesting spot where tourists who stubble upon our "Mini Ghost Town" take photos next to the old gas pump. Jane & Dave Bowes has a museum of century past artifacts in the stone mill along the Tay River. If you are at the bridge around 5 pm Bowes cows may be walking down the road, over the bridge and to the barn on their gorgeous farm across from the mill. Incredible how they do this on their own rain or shine.

Within 3 miles of Penny's Lane you will see beautiful homes, farmland meadows, historic buildings, mini ghost town, the old mill and you can swim on the Tay River.

There are 2 new bikes with baskets for your picnic lunch.

Eco Tay, Waratah Down Certified Organic Farm and Graycott Alpaca Farm is just down the line, and Maple View Golf Course is 3 miles with discounts for Suite Miss Scarlett guests.
